The Create/Connect project asks questions about how community belonging can support our wellbeing in everyday life, and how we use our creativity to build collective resilience when facing societal challenges. Together we explore these topics across creative workshops, digital community mapping and arts activities.

If you are a trans and/or gender-diverse young person aged 12-25 living in the United Kingdom and would like to participate in this research project, there are lots of ways to get involved. You can participate in:

  • Creative workshops such as zine-making, wearable sculpture-making, creative writing, photography;
  • Art boxes to create art responses in your own time;
  • Digital walk-though interviews about how you connect with community online;
  • Joining other trans and gender diverse young people to create a collective snapshot of life as a trans young person in the UK today, by recording a 1-day diary on the same day (supported by the Mass Observation Archive.)

It is like a choose-your-own adventure! You can do as many or as few of the activities as you like, and it is totally up to you if you want to participate at all.

We will be updating this webpage with more information about how you can participate in each activity, keep an eye on this page for updates or our project partners’ social media.
